Carlos A. Torres is the founder and owner of Royal Oaks Energy Services, a company focused on technical and business consulting in Well Intervention for O&G, and recently becoming involved in technology transition into Geothermal applications. Upon graduating as a Chemical Engineer in Venezuela in the year 2000, Carlos began his career in the O&G Industry joining Schlumberger that same year. During his tenure with Schlumberger, he progressed from field, technical, sales, operations and Area Level managerial positions in Well Intervention and Pressure Pumping in different regions such as Southeast Asia, Europe, Venezuela and the US.
In 2016 he moved on to Gulfstream Services Inc., a private equity owned company, where until 2018 he served as Director of Sales and Business Development, managing 6 different product lines: cementing systems, frack/gravel pack support equipment, rental tools, wireline pressure control, decommissioning services, and HP iron management.
In the last 7 years he has consolidated and grown Royal Oaks Energy Services as a trusted supplier for Service Companies, Start Ups, providing support on Business and Technical Advisor roles, Project Management, Procurement Supplier and Equipment Rentals for companies in the US and Internationally.
Carlos has been an SPE member since 2002, served in the SPE Delta Section from 2009-15 and in 2019, he joined the SPE GCS Board, becoming Section Chair in 2022, and currently as a Past Chair. Carlos is also a Committee Member of the Intervention and Coiled Tubing Association Conference, held in Houston, TX. Carlos has authored and co-authored several technical publications for the industry.
Nairy Lumia is a seasoned professional in the oil and gas industry, boasting over two decades of dedicated service and expertise. With a strong technical background and a career spanning from laboratory supervision to sales representation, Nairy has established herself as a versatile and accomplished individual.
Her extensive technical knowledge encompasses the intricacies of bidding processes, contract management, and the selection, design, and pumping of fluids for various oil and gas activities. Over the course of his career, she has led crucial projects, optimized production processes, and demonstrated exceptional leadership skills.
Nairy’s journey began as a Laboratory Technician at Schlumberger Venezuela, where she designed and tested fluids for Cementing, Stimulation, and Sand Control services, adhering to ISO9000 norms and API Standards. She quickly rose through the ranks, taking on roles such as Laboratory Supervisor, Business System Administrator, Internal Control Administrator, and Sales Representative at both Schlumberger Venezuela and Royal Oaks Energy Services, LLC.
Her recent roles at Royal Oaks Energy Services allowed her to further excel in driving operational excellence through the development and implementation of QHSE management systems, as well as participating in key processes within the organization. Nairy’s dedication to continuous improvement, accountability, and decision-making has consistently yielded results that have made a significant impact on the organizations she has been a part of.
A Chemical Process Technician by education, Nairy graduated Cum Laude from Jose Antonio Anzoátegui University of Technology.
She remains committed to the growth and advancement of the O&G industry, continuously seeking opportunities to contribute and make a difference.
Patricia Martinez is the Procurement Engineer at Royal Oaks Energy Services, a company focused on technical and business consulting services for Oil & Gas Well Intervention and Geothermal applications.
Patricia began her career in the Oil & Gas Industry joining Wood Group in distinct roles including Procurement, General Services, MAXIMO’ software and Safety.
She holds an Industrial Engineering Degree from University of Zulia, Venezuela in 2002, and has several studies in Logistics, Materials & Supply Chain Management.
Patricia has over 10 years of combined experience in procurement, supply chain management, HSE & Services Administration.
Currently, she supports the business and projects at Royal Oaks Energy Services focusing on supply chain and finance transactions including analyzing, sourcing, structuring, coordination, and planning execution from 2021.
Fernando Malavé is a professional with 18 years of experience in manufacturing, production and service organizations within the Oil & Gas, Plastic, Phytosanitary and Food industries. He graduated in Chemical Engineering from The Universidad de Oriente Venezuela in 2003 and began his career in research, development and application of specialized chemical technologies and Technical Support for Crude Oil production and Treatment in Latin America and the USA, performing Technical Specialist and Management charges.
He later led the development of new business lines and Quality Control for an agrochemical company in Spain and also has worked as a process engineer in food and plastic additive manufacturing sectors. He is passionate about quality as a way of life and has participated in ISO 9001 certification processes, and is undergoing training as an internal auditor through Bureau Veritas certification body.
He currently is the Quality Coordinator in the certification project led by Royal Oaks Energy, committed to continuous improvement.
